Public Policy

Current Youth Experience

  • Little to no youth representation on public boards

  • Dedicated youth boards often separate entities with no real authority

  • Few offices or policies established specific to assess and target youth needs

  • Few tools in place to screen policies for disparate impact on youth and/or by race/ethnicity, income, and identity

Our Response

We host community forums and provide other venues for youth to screen candidates and inform elected officials.

We work with elected officials and public agencies to assess the impact of policies on youth, especially Black youth, Indigenous youth, youth of color, and LGBTQIA youth who have experienced trauma and/or poverty.

We advocate - directly and with others - for policies that are evidence-based, youth-informed, and will measurably and equitably benefit all youth.
